John O’Sullivan is an Irish contemporary artist based in Kenmare Co Kerry Ireland. His art is abstract, but also impressionistic. It is inspired mostly by the landscape and seascape of Kerry and the west coast of Ireland.

He paints only using oils and palette knives and this leaves him with a very textured canvas when he has finished a piece. There will be a three-dimensional effect to all his work because of the way he applies the paint with the knife.

It makes his paintings more energetic and vibrant and helps them capture light and evoke movement.

John has a strong international following with works in private collections in Japan, Australia, Canada, United States and the  United Kingdom.

Art is neither a profession nor a hobby. Art is a way of being.”
